Tip to make Valetine Day a love filled event

We all know Valentine day is the day for heart-shaped balloons and expensive gift showering but do anyone know Why February 14^th became the day to celebrate your better half? Many scholars and authors tried to find a definite explanation to the holiday origin throughout the years, but there is no definite answer. The date marks the beginning of bird mating season so many believe that’s the original cause, but no official source can tell us that’s why we flock to the flower shops to get our valentine a special gift.

Truth to be told, Marketing has much to do with valentine day. Scholars refer to it as “Hallmark Holiday. A hallmark holiday is a way to say it’s a “made up” holiday, it is believed that Hallmark, the well-known American greeting card company, is the brand that started valentine day, with a goal in mind to sell more greeting cards and flowers. In United States, valentine is not alone – there is also sweetest day, a holiday dedicated to showering gifts on the male counterpart in the relationship (compared to Valentine day, that is a holiday unofficially dedicated to the ladies). In our political correct world, everyone can use his own interruption to the traditional roles.

Here’s a few tips to make your valentine day into a love filled event:

• Loving yourself makes it easier to love your partner: If you been doing this relationship thing for a long time, you already know sometimes couples tend to slack off next to each other. Take this opportunity to take care of yourself and impress your partner – put on a dress he likes or a tie she’s prefers and pretend like he is not the partner that you see on the couch after a long day. Remember how you so eager to impress on the first dates. When you feel better about  yourself your partner will react to it, you might be excited to see him or her excited about a fresh look he has not seen for a while
• Make time: All the candy, flowers and gifts won’t mean a thing if the couple is not celebrating together. Take time off work and errands and make space for love and romance to come in. I can promise one thing, sweet romance does not have a place when your phone keeps ringing with Facebook notifications and work e-mails. Put your phone away and allow time for a heart to heart connection.
• Love your family and people that matter: All year round you have a support system of friends and family, celebrate Valentine’s Day even if you don’t have a romantic partner – give back to the people that has your back! Sending flowers to your mom or your favorite friend can send love energies and brighten the day.
• Find your love: I often noticed, single people worry just as much if not more about Valentine’s Day. Feeling they are missing out on all the supposedly-great things that come along with being involved romantically on this day. I suggest to use those energies in a positive manner – go on-line, go out, re-connect with an old flame, and don’t be shy about looking for a relationship. Be genuine, sincere and open for new ideas, and your desired relationship will arrive.
